Principal News

What a great start to the year!

As we conclude our first three weeks of school, we move from our testing phase to having all our learning programmes up and running, including math extension and house sports, in the coming weeks.  Thank you to all of the teachers who are working very hard at getting to know your child, how they learn best and where their next learning steps are.  The teachers look forward to sharing their initial thoughts and ideas for your child and comparing notes with you at the end of the month.  Please make sure you sign up for an interview after reading the article in this newsletter.

Our extracurricular programs have kicked off with great enthusiasm. Whether it's sports, arts, or clubs, our students have shown an eagerness to participate in the "Tahuna Way" and showcase their talents. These activities play a vital role in promoting holistic development and fostering a sense of belonging among our students. I encourage all students to explore these opportunities further and find activities that ignite their passions.  Thank you to the numerous parents who have put their hand up to help and take sports teams.  With so many children playing sports and participating in other activities we can't do it without your support.

On a similar theme, thank you to the many parents who are supporting classes at the Year 7 camp.  Please make sure you read the Year 8 camp article and consider making yourself available for their camps.  I am sure it will be a wonderful experience.

I want to thank all the parents who support the school by checking those little things like correct school shoes and uniforms, including jewellery, before they leave home each morning and ensuring their safety by making sure they are wearing high-vis vests if they are riding or scooting to school.  This helps us ensure a positive relationship with your child rather than reminding them about the expectations.
